Introduction

An invitation to shop, dine and explore! Boston (aka “Beantown” or “The Hub”) is a very historical city in the northeast of US where the US revolutionary war of Independence was begun. Many of the Constitutional signatories were Bostonians and this is reflected in the citys keen appreciation of history. On a contemporary note, Boston is home to some of the finest museums, universities and hospitals in the world. Add a good dose of world class shopping and tremendous nightlife and you have a city that must be visited. While Boston boasts all of the amenities offered by other large cities in the US, the people of Boston are renowned for their friendliness and hospitality, and the city is easily walk-able.

Attractions

You will never be short of things to do in Boston! Why not take in an afternoon Red Sox baseball game or the Boston Bay Duck tour. You can always walk the freedom trail or go to see the Cambridge College. The nightlife is vibrant and pulsating where great nights out with new or old friends will create some fantastic holiday memories. And just to give you another great reason to visit, you’ll be glad to hear that clothes shopping is tax free. Now, if that’s not an invitation to shop, what is?!


Restaurants

While in Boston you should really sample some of the incredible cuisine on offer in this diverse city. Chinatown for dim sum or peking duck, also great sushi made with fish fresh from the local fishing fleet, can all be had in this Chinese enclave. Next, walk towards the water, this will be The North End, Bostons “Little Italy”. The North End is renowned for its restaurants and desserts. For a truly fine dining experience head to Radius in downtown Boston. Also Grille 23 in the Back Bay is one of the best steakhouses in the city.


Shopping

Boston offers world class shopping both in downtown Boston and the surrounding metro areas. Both are easily reached by public transportation. The full department store in all its glory can be experienced in Macys and Filenes in downtown Boston, while name brand outlet shopping featuring all name brands of clothing and shoes etc., can be reached 15-20 minutes by train or bus.


Weather

Boston has the distinction of being one of only a handful of great cities in the US that enjoys four full seasons in a year. Winter time in Boston starts anywhere around November and can go until the end of March. Snow and extreme cold would be the prevailing conditions during winter. Springtime is characterized by sometimes rainy, sometimes sunny days, but all the time is improving as the days get longer and summer approaches. Summer in Boston is a great time of year for beachgoers and people that enjoy hot, sunny days and warm to hot nights! The city really comes to life in the summer time with outdoor concerts and street performers. Autumn in Boston is probably the most special time of the year. The days are cool and sunny and the nights are brisk and clear.
